WHITE BLUFF MAIN STREET FESTIVAL HOSTS WEST TENNESSEE TEXACO COUNTRY SHOWDOWN

The Main Street Festival in White Bluff, Tn will host the West Tennessee State Final Competition on the 32nd Annual Texaco Country Showdown, America’s largest country music talent search. The show will be held on Saturday, October 12th, 2013 on the Main Stage.

White Bluff’s 8th annual Main Street Festival is bigger and better with a second music stage, larger car show and a quilt show added to Saturday’s events. More that 80 vendor booths are expected, with a variety of products and food. The festival will be noon-7pm Saturday on Main Street in the heart of downtown White Bluff. The show has expanded from a cruise-in to a show with trophyes in categories for cars, motorcycles and tractors. The $10.00 entry fee benefits Feed the Bluff. The Creek Wood High School Virtual Enterprise class is sponsoring the 5th annual Red Hawk 5K run starting at 9am at the community center. For more information, call Dixie Kerr at 797-3131.

About the Showdown: Annually, a series of over 450 local, state, and regional live shows produced by country music radio stations are held throughout the country. Winners advance to their state events where prizes include $1,000 and the opportunity to compete in one of five regional events. Regional winners receive an all-expense paid trip to the National Final in Nashville to compete for $100,000 and the coveted title, “Best New Act in Country Music,.”

Each year, more than 50,000 artists compete throughout the U.S Past local, state, and regional winners include: Martina McBride, Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Sara Evans and Billy Ray Cyrus.
