WEEKEND SET FOR TRIBUTE TO COUNTRY MUSIC GREATS

BENTON COUNTY IS GEARING UP FOR A BIG EVENT, THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OBSERVANCE OF THE 1963 PLANE CRASH THAT TOOK THE LIVES OF COUNTRY MUSIC GREATS PATSY CLINE, HAWKSHAW HAWKINS, COWBOY COPAS AND RANDY HUGHES. THE THREE-DAY EVENT WILL BEGIN ON THURSDAY FEB. 28TH AT THE NEW BEGINNINGS ANNEX BUILDING AT 138 COLLEGE IN CAMDEN. DAVID BROWNING AS THE MAYBERRY DEPUTY WILL KICK OFF THE FIRST EVENING AT 6PM FOLLOWED BY THE GRASCALS AT 7PM.

BENTON COUNTY COMMISSION MEETS

THE BENTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON FEB.26TH FOR THEIR FEBRUARY MEETING. THE COMMISSION VOTED DOWN A RESOLUTION TO RETURN A PIECE OF LAND TO JAMES PEACH THAT IS THE SITE OF THE 1963 PLANE CRASH THAT TOOK THE LIVES OF COUNTRY MUSIC STARS PATSY CLINE, HAWKSHAW HAWKINS, COWBOY COPAS AND RANDY HUGHES.
