LADY LIONS AND LIONS CONTROL THEIR OWN DESTINY

The Camden Lady Lions are 20-2 on the softball diamond after late inning heroics helped them to pull out two district games last week. Down 5-0 headed into the 6th inning the Lady Lions came back to beat Cheatham Co. 6-5 in the 7th to escape with a win and on Tuesday April 9 against Creekwood the girls were down 2-0 in the bottom of the 7th with two outs when the “never give up” showed up again….

CAMDEN LADY LIONS SOFTBALL AND LION BASEBALL OFF TO GREAT STARTS

The weather has been a little cool for spring sports but both the LADY LIONS and LIONS have been hot on the diamond thus far this spring. The LADY LIONS boast a 15-1 record as of today March 27, and host rivalry Waverly at the Camden City Park on Thursday in an important district match up. Although the “Coach T” website has nothing to do with official TSSAA rankings, the sports publication currently ranks the LADY LIONS #1 in the state in class 2A.

CRAPPIE MASTERS ONE POLE TOURNAMENT IN BIG SANDY

Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters will hold a two day Ultimate Challenge one pole-artificial bait only and national qualifying tournament on April 19th and 20th, 2013 on Kentucky Lake. Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Marine, Humminbird, Minn Kota, Benton County and Camden Chamber of Commerce City of Big Sandy. The tournament will qualify the top 5 teams for the national championship to be held at the big fish lake of Grenada Lake, Grenada, MS.
