Camden plays Big Sandy Tonight in Benton County Rivalry Game

The Camden Lions are back on the airwaves tonight as they play a Benton County rivalry game with Big Sandy on WRJB 95.9. Most of the basketball teams in Camden’s district are within a couple games of having the same record. Derek Kelley talked with Camden Basketball Coach Dave Roberts about tonight’s game with the Red Devils. Interview with Waverly Mr Football Winner Gavin Stanfield

Waverly Junior Quarterback Gavin Stanfield recently won the 2A Mr. Football Award at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. Stanfield participated in Mr. Football ceremonies sponsored by the Tennessee Titans, that were also emceed by the Voice of the Titans, Mike Keith. Derek Kelley interviewed Gavin Stanfield about Mr. Football, Waverly sports, and college prospects.

Interview with Hollow Rock-Bruceton Basketball Coach Chris Finlay

Hollow Rock-Bruceton is set to begin high school basketball tonight at Frank Hughes. The Boys Tiger Middle School basketball team has been very successful so far with a 10-1 record. Derek Kelley interviewed Coach Chris Finlay recently, who’s in charge of all middle and high school basketball teams at CHS. The goal for high school boys is to finish 5th in the district and hopefully make a region tournament appearance. The Camden Lions also kick off high school basketball at home with Huntingdon this evening.

Camden Volleyball Finishes Season Wednesday at State Tournament

After the best season in program history, Camden Volleyball’s run at the State Tournament in Murfreesboro ended Wednesday. Camden defeated Sullivan South 3-1 Wednesday morning to advance in the losers bracket to play Signal Mountain that afternoon. The Lions bounced back from being down 2-0 to take a set, but Signal Mountain’s level of play was too much as they took the final set for a 3-1 victory. After the Sullivan South game, Sara Kilgore talked with two seniors on the Camden Volleyball team, Sydnee Baker and Britnee Minor.
