BENTON COUNTY COMMISSION MEETS

THE BENTON COUNTY COMMISSION MET MONDAY NIGHT (APRIL 15) FOR THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING. ONCE AGAIN, THE COMMISSION FAILED TO ELECT A CHAIRMAN PRO-TEM. MAYOR BARNETT RECEIVED 8 VOTES, DR. BERRY 7 VOTES, 1 PASSED AND 2 WERE ABSENT. A RESOLUTION TO ELECT A MEMBER TO THE E-911 BOARD WAS POSTPONED.

THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTIONS WERE APPROVED: TO APPROVE THE RULES OF ORDER AS AMENDED……….TO AUTHORIZE SUBMISSION OF THE 2013-2014 LITER GRANT FOR COUNTY INMATE ROADSIDE LITER PICK-UP…….TO BUDGET FUNDS RECEIVED IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500 FROM TICKET SALES FOR THE PATSY CLINE WEEKEND CONCERTS………FUNDS RECEIVED BY THE ANIMAL SHELTER FOR ADOPTION FEES…..FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE LIBRARY FROM CITY OF CAMDEN AND FOR FINES, COPY FEES AND FAXES………..FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT FOR INSURANCE PAYMENT FOR DAMAGED ROAD GRADER, GOSSETT ROAD BRIDGE AND DISASTER RELIEF………FUNDS RECEIVED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION FGOR REIMBURSEMENT TO STUDENTS TAKING ADVANCED PLACEMENT TESTS AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION AND FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT VARIOUS SCHOOLS………BENTON COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER SOCIAL SECURITY AND EMPLOYMENT….TO PAY INVOICES FOR COUNTY CORONER AND MEDICAL EXAMINER……..JAIL MEDICAL CLAIMS AND TO PAY THE MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR THE WATER TANK AT THE INDUSTRIAL PARK. ALSO APPROVED WAS TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $13,049 TO UPGRADE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN THE COUNTY MAYORS OFFICE.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR RICHARD KEE WAS GIVEN APPROVAL TO ACCEPT A BID OF $19,964 TO PURCHASE A DE-CONTAMINATION SHELTER. COMMISSIONER BERRY MADE A MOTION TO AFFIRM THE MEMBERS OF THE PROPERTY COMMITTEE AS COMMISSIONERS BARRETT,HATLER,PATTERSON, FERGUSON AND DEATON. THE MOTION WAS APPROVED.

THE NEXT MEETING OF THE COUNTY COMMISSION WILL BE ON MAY 20TH.
