We note with regret the death of Mrs. Charlotte Breeden, age 85 of Waverly, who will have visitation today from 5 until 8 at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Visitation for Mrs. Breeden will also be Saturday from 10 until noon at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home. A graveside service for Mrs. Breeden will follow at the Ebenezer Cemetery in New Johnsonville. Bishop Matt Spann will officiate the services.

Mrs. Virginia Faye Ethridge Hemby, age 86 of Waverly, will have visitation Saturday from 1 until service time at 3 at the Ellis Grove Presbyterian Church in Waverly. Reverend John Smith will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Hemby Cemetery in Waverly. The Luff-Bowen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Opening Day for Camden, Hollow Rock-Bruceton, and Big Sandy Today

Today marks Opening Day for many local high school baseball and softball teams including Camden, Hollow Rock-Bruceton, and Big Sandy.

The Camden Lady Lions open the 2019 season today at 5 against McKenzie in the Camden City Park. Meanwhile, the Camden Baseball team makes its 2019 debut today in the Tennessee River Classic at 4:30 against Lenoir City from the Camden City Park.

The Lions will take part all week in the Tennessee River Classic, which features many baseball teams from across the state that’ll be playing in Camden and Waverly.

We note with regret the death of Mrs. Mirtie Mae Medlin, age 95 of Camden, who will have visitation today from 4 until 8 at the Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden. Visitation for Mrs. Medlin will also be Saturday from 9 until service time at 11 at the Oakdale Funeral Home. Brother Marty Johnson will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery.

Mr. William Vance “Bill” Latimer, age 88 formerly of Waverly, will have visitation Saturday from 9 until service time at 10 at the Humphreys County Funeral Home in Waverly. Brother Jeff Keele will officiate the services.

Mr. Robert Eugene Watkins, age 55 of New Johnsonville, will have visitation Saturday from 1 until service time at 2 at the First United Methodist Church in New Johnsonville. Reverend Lucretia Campbell will officiate the services. The Luff-Bowen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ricky Howard Hopper II, age 38 of Union City, will have visitation today from 10 until service time at 2 at the Cottonwood Baptist Church in Ridgely. Burial will follow in the Haynes Memorial Gardens. The Plunk Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tommy Wells, age 67 of Waverly, will have visitation today from 4 until 9 at the McEwen Funeral Home. Visitation for Mr. Wells will also be Wednesday from 9 until service time at 11 at the McEwen Funeral Home. William Brown will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery.

Mrs. Juanita Marie Hudson, age 96 of Camden, will have visitation Wednesday from 11 until service time at 2 at the Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden. Justin Ramer and Reverend Billy Vaughn will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Camden City Cemetery.
