RANDALL DEAN DAMESWORTH, AGE 44, OF CAMDEN WILL SERVE A YEAR IN PRISON AFTER PLEADING GUILTY TO THEFT FROM AN ELDERLY WOMAN IN HENRY COUNTY.

DAMESWORTH APPEARED IN CIRCUIT COURT IN HENRY COUNTY ON MARCH 11 WITH JUDGE DONAL PARRISH PRESIDING. HE AGREED TO A PLEA DEAL THAT WOULD PUT HIM IN STATE CUSTODY FOR ONE YEAR.

DAMESWORTH WAS SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS, WHICH WILL BE SERVED SPLIT WITH ONE YEAR CONTINUOUS CONFINEMENT AND SEVEN YEARS IN COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS. HE WAS ORDERED TO REPORT TO THE BENTON COUNTY JAIL ON MARCH 25TH.

FOLLOWING HIS YEAR CONFINEMENT, DAMESWORTH WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY RESTITUTION OF $100,000 TO WILDA MARTIN OF HENRY COUNTY. DAMESWORTH IS THE OWNER OF MID-STATE TERMITE AND PEST CONTROL. HE WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED AFTER THE VICTIM REPORTED HE SCAMMED HER FOR $132,282 WORTH OF SERVICES. MARTIN ALLEGEDLY TOLD OFFICERS THAT SHE PURCHASED FALSE INSURANCE FROM DAMESWORTH AND PAID HIM FOR REPAIRS HE NEVER DID.
