The weather has been a little cool for spring sports but both the LADY LIONS and LIONS have been hot on the diamond thus far this spring. The LADY LIONS boast a 15-1 record as of today March 27, and host rivalry Waverly at the Camden City Park on Thursday in an important district match up. Although the “Coach T” website has nothing to do with official TSSAA rankings, the sports publication currently ranks the LADY LIONS #1 in the state in class 2A. Many tough district games are coming up for the Lady Lions during April but most expect the LADY LIONS to be in the mix for a regular season district championship come tournament time the first week of May.
The boys are off to a 6-1 start this season with the only loss coming at a frozen field in Waverly this past Monday afternoon. Waverly slipped past the Lions 5-4 late but it didn’t take the Lions long to repay the Tigers as Camden shut out the Tigers on Tuesday 8-0 at the Camden City Park. The boys head to Huntingdon today for three non district games(one on Wednesday and two on Friday).
WRJB Magic Valley 95.9 and WFWL The Catfish 99.7 will be busy during the month of April broadcasting both Lady Lions and Lions spring sports. It’s an exciting time to be a Camden Lion as both teams absolutely have a state tournament birth in their sights…Come on out to the park and watch two great teams this spring….don’t forget your headsets! GO LIONS!!!
